Welcome to the second season of Budgets and Cents, a podcast co-hosted by Cait Flanders (formerly Blonde on a Budget) and Carrie Smith (Careful Cents). If this is your first time listening, welcome! You can use our episode guide to catch up on what you’ve missed.
In season one, we mostly talked about money and how it relates to our personal lives, including how we got into and out of debt, how we budget, some extreme measures we’ve taken to save money (think: two-year shopping bans), who has influenced our money habits and more. The first season wrapped up at the end of March, and today we want to share what we’ve been working on for the past few months!
First, there have been some big blog updates. Carrie redesigned the look of her site and started giving her blog posts a theme each month. Cait kissed “blonde on a budget” goodbye and rebranded to her name. She also (finally) finished writing her book proposal. Speaking of books, we both have updates on the progress of our books and some plans for the future. And somehow, we’ve still managed to find time to get outside and explore more.
Since starting our blogs and getting out of debt, we have both managed to create new careers for ourselves – ones that revolve around our lifestyle and our values. So for season two, we’re mostly going to talk about our lives as full-time freelancers (and bloggers and hopeful authors!). Even if you don’t work for yourself, we’ll still share lots of practical information you can adapt to your daily life. It’s going to be a great summer! 🙂
